NORWICH: City Kingfisher

10th January 2012

Still not enough light to go anywhere birding after work, but I did see a Kingfisher flying along the river between New Mills and Barn Road Bridge  in the gloom after work today.

  1. Probably saw that same Kingfisher today. I had a meeting arranged at New Mills Yard and while standing above the sluice waiting for somebody to arrive it flew out from the bank. Nice to see that there are still Kingfishers in the centre of Norwich!

  2. Yes indeed, we don't do too badly really. I used to see one (and Grey Wagtail) fairly regularly near Cow Tower, so there are probably a couple of pairs in the city.
